Margarethe Seidal (Zarcovacki)
1477 S. Hometown Road • Akron, OH 44321Deceased • 7/28/2025 • Age 83
Margaret Zarkovacki , 83, of Copley, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2025.
Margaret was born in Osijek, Yugoslavia in 1942, to Eugen and Louise Seidl. In 1955 at the age of 13, Margaret and her parents and three sisters immigrated to Germany. With great anticipation, in February of 1957, Margaret and her family sailed to America to start a new life in Syracuse, New York. Many stories about America had been shared by her maternal grandmother, Eva Schmidt (Reinhardt), who had lived and worked as a governess for a prominent family in Syracuse in the early 1900s.
Margaret excelled in school and graduated from a business college in Syracuse, NY. She worked in the business office of a group of surgeons until her marriage in 1973 to Peter Zarkovacki of Akron, Ohio. Margaret was the organist for the Apostolic Christian Church and its choir in Syracuse, New York and was also accomplished in piano and accordion. The youth of the ACC church fondly remember her as a devoted leader and chauffeur of the youth group. Through her love of music and children she introduced and taught many children to love the keyboard and music as she did.
Margaret is survived by Peter, her loving husband of 51 years, and her children and grandchildren: Monica (Ethan and Elise), Timothy and wife Angie (Alex, Rebekah, Heidi, Evelyn, Katelyn, Ryan and Lydia), and David. She is also survived by her sisters Carol Szilagyi (Louis) and Lydia Blumel (William) as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her sister Martha Quackenbush (Bruce) and her brother Karl Seidl.
Margaret accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior early in life and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of America of Akron, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summa Hospice at 1077 Gorge Blvd, Akron, OH 44310. Their staff lovingly and graciously gave care with concern and skill not only to Margaret, but also to her family.
Calling hours will be held from 5-8 PM on FRIDAY, August 1, 2025, at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd, Akron OH 44333 and from 9:15-10:15 AM on SATURDAY, August 2, 2025, at the Apostolic Christian Church of America at 2360 S Medina Line RD, Wadsworth, OH 44281, where funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM. Margaret will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral service at the church cemetery on the church campus.
