Anne Long, 74, of Nebo, NC, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Rosehill Retirement Center in Marion.Mrs. Long was born in Syracuse, NY, on June 6, 1943, to the late Howard Williams and Florence Eloise Franks.Mrs. Long graduated from Central Technical High School in Syracuse and furthered her education at Potsdam State University, in Potsdam, NY, earning a B.A. in Elementary Education. She was of the Methodist faith and was an elementary school teacher.Mrs. Long loved teaching children and was a very well respected teacher at AWyalusing Elementary School in Wyalusing, PA. She just loved people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed socializing and cherished her friends deeply. Some of her favorite hobbies include, pastel painting, canoeing, playing cards and scrabble. She also enjoyed traveling, snow skiing and camping.Mrs. Long and her husband Robert, lived for 30 years Towanda, PA. After she retired, Anne and her husband lived a peaceful life on Lake James, in Nebo, NC. For the past 16 years, she suffered from Parkinson’s Disease.Surviving Mrs. Long are her husband of 52 years, Robert, of the home and a son, Gregory Long, of Arlington, VA. Memorialization will be by cremation and a Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Anne Long will be announced at a later date by the family.

Sue Williams

JACKSON, SUSAN BETH (WILLIAMS), 68, formerly of Syracuse, Grand Island and Endicott, NY, beloved wife and mother, died unexpectedly in Davenport, FL on February 15, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, J. Sheldon and Helen Williams of Syracuse, her father-in-law, Harry L. Jackson of Endwell. Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Richard “Rick” Jackson, her loving daughter, Amanda in-law, Betty(Jackson) Harrington of Maine, NY; sisters-in-law, Lisa Collins (Douglas) Amherst, NY; Vickie Maxon, Endwell; brother-in-law Gary Jackson (Colleen) llion, NY; nephews, a niece and cousins. Sue was an employee of Orange Lake Resorts (Kissimmee, FL). A celebration of Sue’s life will be March 3, 2012 at 6 PM at Sundays Grill in Berry Town Center, Davenport. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to www.autismgym.org. Condolences may be sent via www.oakridgefuneralcare.com (Published in the Orlando Sentinel from February 19 to February 20, 2012)

John Wyatt

John Wyatt, 68, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Oct. 23, 2011. Born to John Wyatt and Catherine Kocyla on Sept. 11, 1943. He was married to Mary Ferrara in Feb. of 1974. Employed for 16 years by BOCES in DeWitt teaching graphic arts and lithography. He retired from BOCES and gained employment at Syracuse University in 1990 as printing plant manager. He retired in 2001. In 2008, he and Mary moved to The Villages, FL where he spent the happiest years of his life. Survivors are wife, Mary; sons, John Wyatt (Mary), Thomas Wyatt, Paul Wyatt (Samantha); and daughter, Kristin Southwick (Bryan); grandchildren, Benjamin, Jack, Zoey, and Charley; sisters, Linda Kurtyka (Bob), Elizabeth Murphy (Dan), Annette Farley (Norm), and Christine Cooper (Rick). Memorial donations may be made to Dr. Paul B. Ferrara Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Wanda Adkins, 700 N. 5th Street, Richmond, VA 23219. ◼︎

Bruce Frederick Yenny, 82, passed peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026. He was born in Syracuse, New York and lived in the CNY area for most of his life. He enjoyed summers on Skaneateles Lake and winters with friends and family in Sarasota, FL.

Bruce began as a Syracuse paperboy when he was nine years old and he did not stop working until retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Class of 1961 at Syracuse Central Technical High School and attended Alfred University. Bruce was a true self-made entrepreneur whose intellect and work ethic built a successful career in the commercial construction industry, eventually as the owner of B.F. Yenny Construction Co, Inc. Many employees became like family as local buildings were built or renovated under the guidance of Bruce’s capable and fair management during his career.

People and relationships were important to him. He had a remarkable ability to connect with and be a friend to everyone he met throughout his life. If you knew Bruce, you have stories!

Bruce was deeply committed to giving back to his community. He was a past member of Bellevue Heights UMC since he was a teen where he met his wife, Kay, and later Marcellus United Methodist Church. He served on the Board of Trustees for both. Bruce felt fulfilled during his time advising Marcellus UMC Youth Fellowship, many of whose friendships continue to adulthood today. He dedicated countless hours to helping others and was always looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of those around him. Bruce was a past Board Member at Hope for the Bereaved and during his working career a Board Member at the Syracuse Builders Exchange.

This would be incomplete without mentioning Bruce’s love of teddy bears, since he physically was like a large bear, intimidating at times with a big heart. Bruce began collecting bears in the 1970s and eventually amassed so many that they were donated to local charities or sent to people Bruce thought needed to know others cared for and were thinking of them. For many years fire departments, police stations, HOPE, and friends who needed it most have received donations or a bear selected with a personal note of love and comfort from the collection of Bruce F. Yenny.

Bruce is predeceased by his parents, L. Robert “Bob” Yenny and Jane Wood Yenny.

He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife of 62 years, Kay (Corey) Yenny, children, Robert (Christy) and their sons, Ryan and Rowan Yenny and Karen Yenny Bellows and her sons, Joel and Garrett Bruce Bellows (fiancé Elizabeth Hynds Scharoun) and siblings, Mark (Joan) Yenny, Gail (Richard) Shields, Robin (Gene) Brown and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Please join us to celebrate Bruce during funeral services held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11am at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Syracuse, NY 13219. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11am prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Maple Grove, Cemetery, Jordan, NY.
